Step-by-step walkthrough for scanning TOTP QR codes from AWS, GitHub, Google, or Supabase.

Overview

Pair2FA enables engineering and ops teams to share two-factor authentication (TOTP) passcodes securely without relying on shared mobile phones, insecure Slack messages, or master password sharing. Adding your first account using a standard QR code takes less than 30 seconds.

Step 1: Access your Pair2FA Workspace

Log in to your Pair2FA workspace dashboard. Click the '+ Add Account' button located at the top right of your active accounts grid.

Step 2: Scan the Service QR Code

When setting up 2FA on services such as AWS Console, GitHub, Supabase, Google Cloud, or Vercel: - Select 'Scan QR Code' in Pair2FA. - Grant browser camera permissions if prompted. - Point your device camera at the QR code displayed on your external provider screen. - Pair2FA automatically parses the standard otpauth://totp/ format, extracts the underlying secret seed, and encrypts it locally before transmission.

Step 3: Verification & Initial Passcode

Once scanned, Pair2FA generates your first live 6-digit TOTP code. Enter this code into your service provider's confirmation prompt to finalize setup. Your entire team can now view synchronized 30-second passcodes instantly!
